  Since a simple cubic unit cell contains only 1 atom. The packing efficiency of the simple cubic cell is 52.4 %. Thus 47.6 % volume is empty space (void space) i.e. almost half the space is empty.

Ans:
    Frenkel defect is shown by the compounds in which cation is smaller than anion.
    In the case of this cation move inside the lattice and form a cavity at its original place. AgCl,AgBr Shows Frenkel defect.

Ans:
     In fcc unit cell, no. of atoms are =[6×21​]+[8×81​]=4
Volume of 1 spherical atom is 34​πr3.
      Hence ,volume occupied by atoms in fcc unit cell will be 4×34​πr3=316​πr3, where, r is radius of atom.
 That's why option (c) is right

   he packing efficiency is is the fraction of volume in a crystal structure that is occupied by constituent particles (volume of space occupied by the spheres/total volume).

      Among the given metals Al occupies hexagonal close-packed (hcp) is having 0.74 packing efficiency and other metals form body-centered cubic (bcc) which has  0.68 packing efficiency.

    Diamond has fcc unit cell structure made up of  atoms. 

This accounts for 8×81​+6×21​=1+3=4 C atoms
C atoms are also present in one half of the tetrahedral voids. 

There are 8 tetrahedral voids in fcc structure.
This accounts for remaining 8×21​=4 C atoms
Thus, total 4+4=8 C atoms are present per unit cell of diamond.
 that's why option (b) is right.

r = 22​a​
