MHT CET 2024: The schedule of the MHT CET 2024 exam has been announced by the Maharashtra CET Cell. MHT CET exam date 2024 is April 16 to May 2. A detailed notification with the MHT CET 2024 syllabus, exam pattern, and other information will be available soon.
MHT CET registration 2024 is likely to start in February. MHT CET 2024 application form will be available online on the website mahacet.org. Candidates interested in applying to the MHT CET exam need to fill the application form. The tentative MHT CET 2024 registration date is February first week.
The syllabus for the entrance exam is similar to class 11 and 12 topics of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. Students opting for BTech courses need to attempt Mathematics while those opting for BPharma have to appear in Biology. Candidates preparing for the exam can download the MHT CET previous year papers here. As per the MHT CET paper pattern, the exam will be conducted online in computer-based test mode. The question paper will have multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Important points related to the MHT CET 2024 exams are
- The questions in MHT CET 2024 will be based on the class 11 and 12 syllabus prescribed by the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Maharashtra
- Approximately 20% weightage will be given to the class 11 syllabus and 80% weightage to the class 12 syllabus while setting the question paper
- There will be NO Negative Marking in MHT CET but the difficulty level of the exam will be similar to JEE Mains.
- MHT CET 2024 PCM exam will consist of 2 sections, each of which will be 100 marks. The first section will be on Mathematics and the second section of Physics and chemistry. Similarly, In PCB exam, first section will be of Biology and second section of Physics and Chemistry.
- The question paper will be set on the complete syllabus of class 12 while only a few topics listed below will be considered for the exam.
MHT CET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

For Maharashtra State Candidates
- Candidates must have passed class 12/appearing in class 12 in 2024
- Candidate should have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one subject among Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/Business Studies in class 12
- Candidate must obtain at least 45% marks in class 12. Candidates belonging to the backward class, Economically Weaker Section, and Persons with Disability category should obtain at least 40 % marks in class 12
Non-Maharashtra Candidates
- Candidates who are not from Maharashtra are also eligible to appear in MHT CET. However, they may or may not appear in MHT CET as the score of JEE Main will be preferred over MHT CET 2024 for admission to B.E./B.Tech. Also, MHT CET reservation policies are not applicable to candidates not belonging to Maharashtra.
OCI/PIO/NRI Candidates
- OCI/PIO and NRI candidates are exempted from appearing in MHT CET. Such candidates can apply for admission based on class 12/equivalent exams. Separate counselling for OCI/PIO/NRI candidates is held separately after the admission process of MHT CET.
MHT CET 2024 Application Form
The application form for MHT CET 2024 will be released tentatively in the first week of March. Application forms will be available online on the website mahacet.org. Candidates interested in BTech admission in Maharashtra need to fill the MHT CET 2024 application form.
The process of filling application form is a multi-step process that includes
Step 1- Registration
Step 2- Filling personal and educational details
Step 3- Upload scanned images of the photo, signature, and category certificate. Category certificate has to be uploaded only by reserved category candidates.
Step 4- Pay application fees
The application form will be automatically submitted once the application fee is paid. Candidates need to download and take a printout of their filled application form. The print copy has to be kept safe till the completion of the admission process as it is required at the time of admission to college. The detailed step-by-step process to fill the MHT CET application form is given below.
Step 1: Registration
The candidate must visit the official website to submit the application form. The first step is registration. Registration has to be done by entering a few personal details, a valid email address, and a phone number. The candidate will receive the application form login credentials at the registered email address.
Step 2: Filling Personal and Educational Details
- The candidate should fill their name in the application form exactly as it is mentioned in the Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets.
- The candidate must fill in the required personal details and education details in the application form.
- Candidates should carefully mention PCM or PCB or both while filling out the application form.
- The question paper will be available in English/Hindi/Marathi/Urdu. The candidate should mention the language in which they want to take up the examination while filling out the application form.
Step 3: Uploading Documents
- The candidate should upload his/her photograph and signature in the proper format and size.
- If the candidate has applied for the reserved seat, then the candidate must upload the caste certificate.
- Proof of identity, mark sheets, and other documents should be uploaded in the correct format and size.
MHT CET 2024 Exam Pattern
As per the exam pattern of MHT CET, the question paper will be set with 20% weightage to class 11 topics and 80% weightage to class 12 topics. The exam will be held online as a computer-based test and will have multiple-choice questions (MCQ). There will be 3 question papers,
- Paper 1 of Mathematics - Total 50 questions. A total of 10 questions from the class 11 syllabus and 40 questions from the class 12 syllabus. Each question will be of 2 marks. The total duration of the paper will be 90 minutes. No negative marking.
- Paper 2 of Physics and Chemistry- Total 100 questions. The physics part will have 50 questions and the rest 50 from Chemistry. Out of 50 questions in each subject, 10 questions will be from the class 11 syllabus and the remaining 40 will be from the class 12 syllabus. The total duration of the paper will be 90 minutes. No negative marking.
- Paper 3 of Biology (To be appeared by only Pharmacy candidates) - Total 100 questions. A total of 20 questions will be from the class 11 syllabus and the remaining 80 from the class 12 syllabus. The total duration will be 90 minutes. No negative marking.
MHT CET 2024 Mock Test
To help the MHT CET aspirants become used to the Computer Based Test, the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell will make the MHT CET 2024 mock test papers available online on the official website. By taking up the mock tests, the candidates will learn a lot about their level of preparation, the complexity of the exam, the types of questions that will be asked, and much more. The mock tests will follow the same format as the actual examination and will cover the entire MHT CET syllabus. It is strongly recommended that the candidates solve mock test question papers regularly.
MHT CET 2024 Exam Centres
The exam will be conducted in around 100 cities across the state and in a few cities outside Maharashtra. The exact details about the MHT CET exam centre of the candidate will be mentioned in the admit card. Candidates will be allotted an exam centre based on the choices of exam city filled by the candidate at the time of filling the application form. The exam city once allotted can not be changed. It is thus advised that candidates fill the exam city preference in the application form carefully.
- MHT CET 2024 will be conducted online in almost all the districts of Maharashtra
- Outside Maharashtra, the Capital Districts of the selected states like Delhi-NCR, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh could be the centres for examination
- The test centre will be allotted to candidates based on the preference filled in the application form
- The exam centre once allotted will not be changed under any circumstances
